Province of Manitoba Canada Attracts Major Investments

Investment is booming! McCain Foods Canada has announced infrastructure investments totaling $75 million for its Portage la Prairie and Carberry-based facilities, French fry processor J. R. Simplot Company is investing $460 million to more than double production and French-based Roquette is constructing a new $400 million pea processing plant. The new plant will be the largest plant of its kind in the world and one of the largest private-sector investments in the history of Manitoba.

Many new restaurants are also looking to open in Portage la Prairie, including Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Mr. Mikes Steakhouse and Booster Juice.
