My name is Patricia Colbourne and I am the first tenant at the Taylor Residences!

I live in Fort Garry, get groceries at Sobeys on Taylor Avenue in Grant Park Festival and bank at the Scotiabank next door in Grant Park Pavilions. When I saw the sign for future apartments on the same property, I knew it was meant to be. I reached out to Shindico and placed a $500 fully refundable deposit on the suite of my choosing on the floor of my choosing.

As mentioned earlier, I shop in the area and look forward to being able to walk to some stores and other amenities – I like to walk to get exercise! As well, I like that the building is only six stories. My suite is close to the elevator and I will enjoy the indoor heated parking. Having a heated parking stall was important to me as I am coming from a house with a large garage. I especially liked that the parking stalls are oversized and not extremely tight like many other new buildings in Winnipeg.

The suite that I picked is perfect for me. I like that the washroom near the entrance is easily accessed by guests. As well, all the large windows face the balcony, and the large full width balcony gives me lots of space to enjoy the warmer weather. I was concerned that I may not be able to operate a heavy sliding patio door, so I was relieved to find out that access to the balcony is instead through a glass door, which is easier to operate and provides a more weather tight seal.

Shindico has been easy to work with, and even invited me to the building’s official sod turning. I hadn’t been to a sod turning before, and I really enjoyed meeting some of the other residents. It will be great to know people in the building and make use of the amenities including the gym, residents lounge, and multi purpose room with them.
