One of the province's key real estate and development players will be the guest speaker at an upcoming Selkirk and District Chamber of Commerce meeting.
Sandy Shindleman, president and CEO of Shindico Realty, will be speaking at the Nov. 25 chamber meeting at Rembrants Bistro in East Selkirk from noon to 1 p.m., discussing "The Demand For Real Estate".
Chamber president Kelly Cook says Shindleman is the first of many guest speakers the chamber has lined up for its membership.
"We are always looking at how we can add value to our membership," said Cook. "One of the ways we think we can do that is by bringing in speakers who are able to discuss good, relevant topics with our members."
During his nearly 35-year career in real estate, Shindleman has developed over five million square feet of property and is also the founder of self-storage company StorageVille Inc., Bridgemer Investment Properties, and a founding partner in the Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball club's Canwest Park in Winnipeg.
Cook says it's a good experience for chamber members to come and hear someone as successful as Shindleman speak, and adds that hopefully, they will be able to take away something good from the challenges he's faced and the accomplishments he's made in business.
"I think everyone will get something different out of it, but hopefully everyone will take something away from his presentation," said Cook.
Tickets for the luncheon can be purchased for $20 for chamber members, and $25 for non-chamber members by contacting either Sheri Skalesky (482-7176), Justin Jasper (785-7600), or Lesli Malegus (482-3113).
